yes Rocky, with words like that I don't know how anyone can doubt your masculinity, not for a second!!
I find the best course of action throught the day is to attack, not with rudeness, abuse or swords, I mean to "get in first" with comments.
Example:
If I see someone giving me a strange look I give them a big smile and say what a nice day it is, I get in first, disarm them with my charm and friendliness  . that either puts them at ease about this guy in a kilt - or makes them go away. Both results are good.
I've said it before, but kiltwearing is a lesson in human behaviour, it's facinating! We have to learn how to respond to all kinds of attitudes, comments, compliments and sometimes abuse.
All in all I believe that wearing a kilt makes us a stronger, more confident and better person.

mike,
it is soooo nice to see that there are still gentlemen who observe the small, civilized little niceties!

At age 60 I wear what I choose to wear. Don't care what others may think. That's them.
If I tried to dress to please anyone I "might" run into in the course of the day I'd go insane from trying to figure out the future and how to be ready for it.
I much more enjoy dressing to please myself, particularly trying new things that please me.
I'm still straight, but dang, since I started wearing kilts a lot I also notice unbifurcated garments such as Hawaiian mumus and Navajo skirts...gotta be colorful though.
The farthest stretch so far had been wearing my Macabi River Skirt down at Supai Village in the west end of the Grand Canyon. Had a couple of Supai warriors positively speechless. But I also had on a Rasta Bear t-shirt and I think it was the combination that threw them... When they asked about it I asked incredulously, "You've never seen a Macabi River Skirt here? I'd have thought for sure you'd seen lots from the folks running the Grand Canyon when they hike up here to see Havasupai Falls."
Nope...but they seemed to like the idea. Who knows, maybe next trip down there'll be some skirted warriors.
