What a day for comments
Hell-o all,
Today was the 34th annual People's Fair held in Denver. It started out nice although a bit chilly, so I dressed accordingly (kilted of course do you think that I would dress any other way?) Well when I arrived it started to rain, not heavy, just a nice little rain. It continued into the festivities but I was not to be left undaunted. Bravely I put on my hat and grabbed my umbrella (bumbershoot) and participated. Ran into several friends and had some good talk. Went up to one booth and noticed something I liked, KILTS, someone was actually selling kilts and it was not a Celtic event. Utilikilkts had a booth and was manned by four kilted gentlemen, one of which I knew from a social club I belong to. (Yes I was instrumental in getting him unbifurcated.) It was by chance that I was wearing my black Utilikilt original, so we all blended in. About 10 ladies walked up of various ages, and were just standing with mouths open, when one said "we all love those kilts!"
Wonderful so far.
This evening I went to a concert of a young musician who is just starting out. By this time I had changed into my Bear Maple Leaf. He was talking to the audience like they usually do, when he spotted me and said that when he was in High School he was in Brigadoon and fell in love with the kilt, and said that he admires anyone who can wear a kilt and be so confident while doing it.
Oh what a great day it was!
