Well, the good news is you get what you pay for. The bad news is you get what you pay for. I ordered an Argyle with a length of 33". What I received was an Argyle nicely made, but 22 inches long, with sleeves to match. With the addition of my balmoral I looked like an organ grinders monkey. All I needed was a tin cup and I'm rollin' in the bucks!
Needless to say I was disappointed. I communicated my displeasure with the owner and he fired back a reply that it was his staffs fault and that he was making me a new one that would arrive before my daughters wedding. Thats fine, but I can't rely on that. I got a cheap black suit coat and am cannibalizing the epaulettes and pocket flaps from the first to make a proper fitting one at a local tailor. The gauntlet cuffs should be no problem for the tailor to duplicate. The buttons are ready to go from one to the other, and with some shortening and reshaping the coat should be perfect.

All in all, I have relearned a valuable lesson. You get what you Pay for. This whole thing has cost me as much as getting a custom made jacket out of Scotland in the first place.

So laddies, what have we learned? All together now, You Get....
