I much prefer the first tartan. The second one appears a wee bit too white, sort of like a female Highland Dancer's kilt.

    No. One

Hi, I'm new here and I am looking for a post to reply --but I like the first one because it seems "tighter." What computer program is that, Highlandtide?

What are we deciding upon, here?

What's the purpose of the tartan here? Are we looking to register one for our own use as the X Mark the Scot forum members or some such thing? I noticed that #1 seems to be the one in the background of this page... is that what this was for?

In any case, I like tartans with one dominant color with the other colors in just enough quantity to give it some life. Ergo, I like #1.

We're working on having a mill produce the tartan so that X markers can buy the material and have it made into ties, kilts, vests, what-have-you.

We're getting very close to a completed deal, here. Look for a post in "general Kilt Talk" before the end of the week, I'd guess.

Just wandering by...can't recall if I voted or not or for which...now, looking at them I like #2 since it seems darker and appears to have a larger pattern to it.

I don't seem to have had my say on this matter yet, although I thought I had. If I am not too late (I've not been around these parts for a few weeks!), I have to say that I much prefer Tartan No.1., especially with a kilt in mind.

However, bearing in mind earlier discussions regarding import duties, taxes and shipping costs, I am not so sure that I am going to be able to afford a kilt length of this exclusive tartan after all. I'll just have to wait until we have the final, confirmed details of the true costs before making up my mind. It now seems most unlikely that the fabric will be ready for me to collect when I am in Vancouver (31st July - 13th August). That would have reduced the overall costs to me quite significantly. Ah well, you can't win 'em all!!

Not to worry Ham, I'm sure that if you want some of the Tartan we can figure out a way to get it and send it to you marked as a gift or something.
