Nothing serious I'm afraid. Steel Bonnets was already checked out so I got half a dozen Flashman novels,

    In no particular chronological order:
    Flashman
    Flashman's Lady
    Flashman in the Great Game
Flashman and The Mountain of Light
Flashman and the Angel of the Lord
    Flashman and the Dragon

They had several others on the shelf, including Flashman and the Redskins, Flash for Freedom, Flash Royal, and Mr. American, but I either own copies or have read them in recent years.

Sir Harry is one of my favorite fictional characters and I consider Fraser to be the best writer in the historical fiction field.

    Fraser...

    Doc,

    Check out the MacAulsan series:

    "The General Danced at Dawn"
    "MacAulsan in the Rough"
    The Shiek and the Dustbin

It's a fictionalized account of GMF's time in the post-WWII Gordon Highlanders.

Also check out his memoir of his service in Burma suring WWII with the Border Regiment, "Quartered Safe Out Here" -- but be forewarned about the very thick "Geordie" accents!

    Cheers,

    Todd

Have read and greatly enjoyed The General Danced at Dawn.

BTW, for those not familiar with Private MacAulsan, imagine a dirty Gomer Pyle with a bad attitude. Private MacAulsan, The Dirtiest Soldier in the British Army!
