    unique kilt pins

It's time I branched out into a new pin or two beyond the regualar non-clan claymore. I have two of those. Seeing the "Rohan" Pin that Galant posted the other day got me thinking. Anybody else want to share some really cool non-standard kilt pins?

I'm also looking for a kilt pin for a "contemporary" kilt that I'm making that will have black "swif-clip" type fastenings. The material is Carhart Caramel.

I have a Kwakiutl "Sun" design in silver done by a local First Nations artist. I like it because it represents another great culture, is a little out of the ordinary, and looks great on tartan.

Everyone who has not ordered an X Marks kilt pin should do so, immediately!

I'd really like to get mine, and last I heard, we were only half-way to the 50 orders needed.

One of the Sikh regiments of the Indian Army who still wear tartan and have pipe bands, etc., has a very distinctive kilt pin of a Bengal Tiger in the rampant position, to signify the unity of Indian identity and Scottish tradition. I was presented with one of these by a member of this regiment.

They are in a box somewhere, but I've been thinking about digging out one of my old Army unit crests to wear as a kilt pin.

punching in brooch in ebay showed a lot of interesting ones besides old lady jewellery. several military ones. http://cgi.ebay.ca/Celtic-Brooch-BRI...QQcmdZViewItem

punching in pins showed a lot of cartoon collectibles. this has potential: http://cgi.ebay.ca/GOOFY-Red-AIDS-AW...QQcmdZViewItem

    of course, tastes may vary.
