So yesterday I'm kilted for the 4th day in a row (work four 10s) and the CEO passes me in the hall. He says, "Is it Kilt Day today?" and I said, "Yes, it is." then he says, "No, its Kilt Week." and I again said, "Yes it is."

Two days earlier I'd been standing in the office doorway of the CFO asking a question and the CEO came up behind me and interrupted to ask her a question but while he was doing that he was giving me a friendly shoulder rub. No kilt comments then.

In the behavioral health industry today, attention to culture and diversity is all the rage. Somehow, I think coming to work kilted helps them with compliance in that area.

Main thing, I was COMFORTABLE this week. While I've been wearing kilts to work regularly, this was the first week to wear them every day.

This was also a stressful, busy week. I think the freedom of being kilted helped me cope in a more relaxed way.

    Kilts as stress reducers? Hmmmm..
First, the drug companies start complaining to the FDA.
The FDA puts kilts on the controlled substances list. It becomes against the law to buy, sell, make, or possess a kilt.
Kilts become available on the underground black market, making them more enticing to own because of their outlaw status.
Grassroots lobbying will make kilts available by a doctor's prescription.
Insurance companies will be forced to pay for our kilts!!
(Of course, the kilts will cost $4,000. Or $250 in Canada)

Yes, but you could order one every 90 days for a $25 dollar co pay. Now that's a health plan I could support!

I can vouch for the effectiveness of kilts as a stress reducer Glen. Working in the heat of a kitchen sapps one, the heat inflames your tempor, anger flows quicker, etc. Wearing a kilt as left me not as drained and worn out at the end of the day. My monkey minions, i.e. co-workers  have found that I'm easier to get along with at work, largely due to the increased comfort afforded t oone wearing a kilt.
