Where to buy Jacobite shirts w/o breaking the bank
I almost ordered a black Jacobite shirt from kiltstore.net today, but when I went to check out the shipping came up as about 25 USD. It had taken me two days to come to grips with the idea of spending $50 on this shirt, but $75 is just too much when I'm only spending $110 on my kilt. Does anybody have any recommendations on where I can get a quality Jacobite shirt for a bit less money?

Try the gift shop at www.scottishtartans.org, you should be able to find plenty of them out there in the $50 to $55 range. Someone here probably knows a cheaper source.

Greetings!
For what it's worth, it's not a difficult shirt to make, if you know someone who can sew. A friend aquired a pattern (from somewhare...She says she's had it forever....) and claims it was easy to do. Just a thought!

Check out the ones Bear sells www.bearkilts.com as an L&M retailer. Really nice shirts. http://www.landmhighland.com/default...pcat=8&ptyp=24
I thought they were only about $50 Cdn. but I could be wrong.

Buy one of these:

Those lace-up "pirate shirts" are NOT authentic for the Jacobite period....

I think they look like Hell, but Ebay is the place, if you really want one.
