Am I wearing this right?
Well, it's been a LONG time since I've posted on here. Life has been hectic, I've since moved from Armenia to Turkey (I know, strange). I've also since taken my first trip back to the states in 18 months and am now back in Ankara.
Now that I'm finally situated, I decided to break out the kilt and try it on. I know, I know, I've had it for like 5 months and this the first time I've really had a chance to do it!
Ok here's the dilemma! Am I wearing this correctly?
This is my first time and I think I've gotten it figured out for the most part but I need your help, the foremost minds in Kilts today!
Thanks guys, any and all suggestions will be GREATLY appreciated and cherished!
Erik

My only suggestion is to wear the kilt a little higher, so that the bottom edge strikes the top of your knee. That will show a bit more knee than you currently do.
BTW, that's a sharp looking outfit you're wearing.

Looks great! Got that whole "thing" going there!
I'll give you the SAME advise that I give 99% of the kilt wearers that don't notice it. When the left side of the front apron pulls and puckers... let out on the lower right buckle. The waist buckles are the only ones that need to be snug. The lower right one is there to keep the apron and hips in place. If it's pulled too tight... the apron tries to work the hip size into the underfold. Not good.
Loosen that dog and go have a Guinness!!!
Oh yah. Welcome back!

Looks good on ya! I would second Doc and Jimmy's advice. Traditional kilts are meant to be worn on the true waist, not at the modern waist (i.e. on the lower part of the hips.) And ditto to Jimmy's suggestion about the right bottom strap. It really helps, trust me!

Thanks for the suggestions guys! The bottom strat should fix the only thing I noticed wrong. And you're right I guess it was a little low. Now I know! Awesome.
Thanks a million guys! Erik

The outfit looks great. My monitor is crap so I can't make out the tartan. Which one is it?
I would suggest having a bit more turnover on the top of the hose as well. There seems to be a bit too much flash showing at the calf.
Are you in the Marine Corps, Erik? Embassey duty?

Awesome I'll have to check that out! I'll buy one in a second.
Paris Island! Following in my entire family's footsteps.
The embassy duty isn't terrible, its' a hell of a lot better than the fleet though. Just that every year more MSGs get into trouble and our curfew gets earlier and earlier and we lose more and more freedoms. Long story, don't want to rant. Seeing the world (not Iraq) does rule though!
