    Interesting Comments on the Kilt

My Sunday: Church, then went out strolling today after church, as I usually do on Sundays (kilted, as always.) Some friends and I went to a local 50's-style malt shop for a fountain soda. The following comments were made on the kilt:

From the priest at my church: "I should start wearing a kilt on sundays, too!"

From the soda jerk: "Will you be ordering a pair of trousers today?" (my response: Over my dead kilted body! )

From a fellow customer: "Do you compete in the highland games?" Now, for those of you whom I have not had the pleasure of meeting, I am a rather brawny guy, 6', 200lbs, broad shoulders, etc...I'm going to take this one as a compliment!

From one of my (female) friends: "Sav, you look better in a kilt than any other guy does in trousers!" 8)

Just thought I'd share some of the positive feedback I get every day while being kilted. Classes start tomorrow, and a new batch of professors will get to see me kilted!

Wearing your kilt to class? Very Nice! I was just speaking to my wife about that (I take classes at night at a local University). I'm beginning to see that there is absolutely NO occassion that the kilt is inappropraite.

    I wish that were true!!
My boss would certainly invite me into his office to have a friendly chat about the company dress code, the image of the company I display to customers blah blah blah

Glad to hear that you are going to be kilted in class Sav. As you know kilts are a class garment! If more people wore them like you do, problems that Brasilikilt would encounter would NOT be happening.

Great comments! I wonder if your priest really will wear one? Give him a kiltmakers' card.

I had a minister in Denver tell me that he had preached in a kilt, I said, you should still do it!

Sav, you'll enjoy school kilted. Just spent a week seated at a conference...testicular freedom improves concentration.

I did get very used to "the sweep" to keep the pleats reasonable straight when I sat. Found that shifting around often twisted the pleats and I'd have to raise up a bit and sweep again...got to where I didn't care what the folks around me thought...wanted the pleats straight.

Kilted at the University....makes sense. Folks will notice, but in general the University crowd is fairly open-minded so it should go over just fine. At least, that's how it goes here, anyway.

    congratulations!

Personally, I'm not interested in watching male gymnastics if they are wearing kilts. Same with wrestling
