Nova Scotia tartan...

Let the clock start...NOW!
Great choice of tartan, Schultz -- my missus wears the Nova Scotia tartan in honour of her Melancon ancestors who came from Grand Pre, NS to Louisiana in "Le Grand Derangement".
BTW, the NS tartan is the oldest district tartan in North America.

Thanks!
I love the colors in it. I'm fond of wearing the color blue, and that tartan is just perfect. I very much look forward to getting it.

I have a tam in the Nova Scotia tartan, and I have to say that it is one of my favorites. I really like the brilliant blue . . .

Review!
Okay, I got the Nova Scotia tartan kilt from the Celt's Cauldron on eBay. I've yet to wear it, but here are some first impressions:
Definitely 11oz PV. It's nice and soft.
There are four buckles, two on each side. I've never seen a kilt with a fourth buckle on the left side and I'm still trying to figure out why. i'll just close up the buttonhole and get rid of the buckle and strap.
The pleats are very shallow. It's definitely not the 8-9 yards of material I was told would be used. The pleating is a little iffy as well...the sett across the pleats is skewed here and there. Also, there's no center line down the back. It appears to be centered on the center of the box, not on a line. The fell could be sewn down a little further as well.
The apron is not tapered, and there's a triple fringe instead of a double one. Like the back, there's no center line, but a center "box", so to speak. There's no real lining to speak of, just some remnant tartan fabric used instead.
It will definitely be used as more of a knockaround homewear kilt than wearing out. As I only paid $100 for it, I definitely got what I paid for.

Wo wo wo. $100 for a knock around kilt!? Great tartan or not, unless this is EXACTLY what you were looking for I'd return that puppy. You can get an awesome kilt from Rocky for $110 delivered or a well done kilt from Stillwater for less than that.
If you truly want knock around, hit the sport kilt site and save $30, $40, $50.
Just my $.02 worth.

The tartan itself is one of the reasons why I don't feel like I was cheated. I haven't seen it offered by anyone, really. And by "knockaround", I mean something I'd work in outside, or running to the store.
I've always considered the SWK, but at 6'5", the 24" length would make look like i'm wearing a mini-skirt. I prefer to wear my kilts around the true waist, because otherwise my beer gut pushes it down even further and I really don't like the look of that
I'm not sure I'd reccommend anyone getting a kilt from this place, but let's just say that I'm not angry about anything. I went into it knowing it was an "experiment" of sorts. I'm also rather easy to please. It'll do.
