Again I'd like to thank all that post for the inspiration and information that helped me make a good decision. Those of you gone ahead have set me a great path from which to start.! Here we go!
Well done, mate!
I'm sure there are others who read the posts, buy their kilts and discover how nice it is to be kilted, and never ask a single question on the forums, but too few of them appreciate the service. Thanks you for the thank you.
Too many new guys ask the same questions that have been answered far too many times. The answers to most of their questions are easily found but they decide it's easier to ask than do a little digging on their own.
Then along comes deadelvis and tells us he's already bought and worn his kilt, due to our inspiration and information.
Again, well done!

Great story! Glad to hear it was a success. Funny story about the young lady and the puppy, too. Classic!

Welcome, and well done, Charles.
And well said, Bear! Sometimes the oft-repeating of simple and basic questions is enough to drive one away! Years ago, back in the 1950's, I did all my own research regarding the wearin' o' the kilt, by writing to kiltmakers to request copies of their catalogues and brochures and by studying the photographs they contained. Nowadays there is SO much information available on the Internet, that it is really not necessary to ask any questions!
That being said, I derive a great deal of pleasure (provided I have sufficient time) from sharing my knowledge with those 'newbies' who take the trouble to write to me - and many do!!

A hundred-thousand welcomes Charles,
From a fellow Tulsan and brother Officer I bid ye welcome to Xmarks. I too just recently began discovering the joys of going kilted. Perhaps we can get together for a pint sometime.
Be well and be safe out there brother,
Cheers

Tulsa...
Welcome from a neighbour to the north in Springfield, Missouri! Ever been to the White Lion Pub? I wore my kilt and full formal rig there after a meeting at the Doubletree and we (myself and three other gents in kilts) were very well received!!
Oklahoma Scottish Games coming up as well down your way -- Hope to make it down there again soon!
Cheers,
Todd
