You all look very uncomfortable in BDs - I bet they itched.

As a side matter, looking at the 37-pattern PLCE (personal load carrying equipment), and specifically the belt, does anybody know of anyone who makes or is willing to make the "female" part of the buckle so as to fit the buckles traditionally available for kilt belts?

I've been unable to source them, and cutting a slot in the belt offends my aesthetic senses.

Quite the opposite really, BDUs are quite comfortable...We tend to keep a stiff upper lip. Try asking Jerry at What Price Glory about the webbing pieces you're looking for.

...so if you tried the period up to '40, i.e. Dunkirk, could you wear a kilt? Was the original group, the ones you're reenacting, attached to the BEF?
