First place I ever wore a kilt: The Bureau of Motor Vehicles for a driving test to get my license again.

I figured, if you're gonna wear this thing, jump in with both feet. And hold the apron down so that the evaluator doesn't see the wrong stick shift.

Possibly the strangest place I have worn a kilt, it couldn't be seen. Had to do a quick enty to a containment area and the kilt ended up rolled under my bunny suit...

I wear it around Marines and Sailors here at Camp Lejeune, Army when at Fort Bragg, bikers, farmers and other rednecks of most every description. Very seldom do I hear a negative comment and only once have I faced a physical confrontation while in the kilt. The kilt had nothing to do with that, it was just a couple of kids looking for trouble...stupidity really is it's own punishment.

Been to Whitesburg, KY (deleverance country), lots of flea markets, Home Depot (laugh if you want this was one of the biggies for me), but the strangest was last year video taping a segment on the low rider culture for Monster Nation.

I wish I had one in high school, that's cool. I want to wear mine to my conservative Cathlic fall festival this weekend but I may have to go see my doughter in Amies this weekend. She is more important but I will be kilted there, she likes it too.

Great job guys Ken P,S. I can't spell at all

The only times I haven't worn a kilt in the last two years is when I've been rock climbing (as much as I'd like to, a kilt and a harness just don't work together!). I don't consider where I'm going, I just go there.

I suppose the strangest place I've worn the kilt is swimming in a lake - it was a public beach, lots of kids around, and I didn't have a bathing suit. So in I went. Afterwards, it drip dried in about two hours of wear...not bad for being completely soaked through!

A blind date is sort of strange too. I said, "You can't miss me - I'll be the guy in the kilt." She said, "Cool!"

But the run-of-the mill places I go? I don't even think about them. Bars, stores, restaurants, music festivals, subway trains, busses, grocery stores, hardwear stores, hitchhiking, backpacking, concerts. Everywhere is open to wearing a kilt.

    Andrew.

OOO, got another one that I just remembered.

Back in Feb, I shot a music video for a Rap group in a Club. It is the first time I have even been in a club that had armed guards metal detecting and frisking all patrons as they walked in. Big signs that said, "No gang Colors." That kind of thing. Add to that I was one of three white guys in the building (out of over 500 people or so). I got no reactions on the kilt at all, even when we weren't shooting, and just hanging out at the bar (the club was open to the public durring most of the shoot to get lots of crowd).

So far the strangest place for me was a Safeway in redneck country looking for bergers and dogs. I was dressed much like I am in my avatar and I was asked by "more than one" person if I was coming from a renaissance festival!

Go figure, I guess it was my 16th century tie and cufflinks

    Rue Bourbon in July

Funny I was in New Orleans a night or two before my wedding with my wife to be and had a awful time Kami and I were dressed to match in Royal Stuart and she was just the most beautiful thing I had ever seen in my life. But I was getting all of the complements. It was then I deceided to wear my uniform at my wedding to keep from detracting from my Bride. I was bummed I had literally spent over a grand on a kilt outfit.
