For Pete's sake someone buy this kilt!!!!

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

I don't have the resources to buy this kilt right now but if someone doesn't do something fast I may just do something irresponsible and NOT regret it later!! aaaaaaaaargh! It is all I can do to not post a bid with a price like that.

Someone put me out of my misery and buy it before I do something foolish.

Another reason for me to lose weight and grow taller.

I don't get it though...looks like its being sewn to order for any size, or is this something someone didn't pick up or returned that they're trying to sell off.

Does this ebay deal mean someone could REALLY buy that kilt for $120 if it fit them...? There are so many ebay listings like this that imply one kilt for sale that are really open ended deals for kiltmakers....help me understand here...??

This is one of a number of listings by Stillwater Kilts. I recently purchased one of their standard kilts in Nightstalker. It is a very nice, lighter weight P/V blend kilt. I wore it to the Celtic festival this last weekend. I have heard from others on the board that they have been happy with SW as well. They offer a decent line of kilts in stock sizes. The only thing to beware of with their hevyweight kilts is that they categorize 13oz wool as "heavyweight" which is pretty light. Doesn't mean it is a bad kilt, but lighter than what is being offered by other makers as heavyweight, and would be classified as light to medium weight based on the posts I have seen by others on the forum and also other kiltmakers. What is nice is that they generally appear to have a good selection of kilts in stock and so you can have one pretty quickly. I ordered mine on a Thurs or Fri and had it on Monday.

SW standards are not PV. They are acrylic. USAK and Bearkilts are PV.

Primarily to me PV is A LOT thinner. Acrylic weaves I've seen are about twice as thick as my PV USA kilt and less tightly weaved.

PV is a polyester-viscose mix. Acrylic is that, acrylic. The acrylic fabric is a lot thicker and feels looser than PV. Also, another difference I noticed is the feel of acrylic is a lot more fuzzy, actually PV is not fuzzy at all.

the SWK's I am wondering about are the 4 yard wool kilts on ebay. Jerry has a Black Stewart listed but it has a 34" waist. I finally dropped down to a 36"...maybe if I sucked it up for the rest of my life...nah.

Not sure what you mean by fuzzy, but after wearing my SW standard in Nightstalker for a full day with a sporran, the front apron is decidedly pilled or fuzzed. Not sure if that is becaues of the construction or the material. Anybody have an answer? I feel like I need to "shave" the front apron before wearing it again.

    MacG,
Go to his web store and you can get whatever size you need at pretty much the same price as on ebay. I think he uses ebay to enlarge his market (which sounds kind of kinky when I review it in writing!).

However, I am currentrly at 41" ro 41.5" and ordered the standard Nightstalker and in a 40" and it fit fine. I am not even all the way out on the right side buckles.
