When I first found Xmarksthescot, I found it a great place to hang. PhilH sent me here over one and one half years ago when I found the Utilikilts forum too negative, and it was refreshing to find a place to hang where there was structure due to good moderating, as well as an abundance of helpful kilt related information. I was just starting out with kilts, and it was educational/fun reading about the experiences of others as well as sharing my own exploits. There was a feeling of fraternity here that I appreciated.

Lately, however, I have noticed that my posting has been spawned almost entirely by negativity. It began with my review a few months ago of Bear's customer service, continued when I felt I needed to defend my words, carried over into a castigation of the mod's decision to pull individual reviews and then the entire reviews section, and has culminated in this post. This makes me look like a negative person, which I am not. This makes me feel like a negative person, which I am not.

Lately, I feel that objectivity amongst management is worth exactly the cost of admission to this site. But therein lies the rub- this is an entirely free service. No fees are collected, and with no consideration there exists no contract to provide fairness, satisfaction, or anything else. Based on how it fills one's needs, Xmarks is a resource to be taken at face value and either used or ignored, and with no hard feelings.

I suppose that this is simply a long-winded way to say that lately Xmarks and I have been annoying one another more often than not and that it is time for me to take my leave.
