Forgive me kilt gods I have sinned

It has been 5 days since my last discretion. I wore trousers last weekend on a motorcycle trip.Yesterday I purchased a pair of Joe Rocket MC pants with cargo pockets above the knee and is 100% waterproof to go with my Joe Rocket Jacket and electric vest. My only excuse is that gas prices are so damn high that I must resort to riding my Madura on extended trips as it gets better mileage than my mini SUV.
The pants nearly cost as much as one of my kilts...ouch....This ensemble will extend my riding season by 4 weeks which is OK by me. I still will be walking the dogs every morning whilst I wear one of my kilts from my wardrobe, rest assured.

Wow, I haven't heard many people mention the Madura (Suzuki's custom cruiser from the 80's) 1200cc, V4 configuration: I admit I have a soft spot for the V4 engines, since I owned my share of V65 Magnas :-) .
Bryan...just can't bring myself to ride in a kilt-what if I toss the bike and get blood on my good tank? :-D

Yes it's a rare bike indeed...loads of power and a wonderful growl from the exhaust. I just got this bike in May having nursed a '78 Honda 750F supersport for too many years. I'm enjoying the bike, only draw back is the limited range on fuel! as well as limiting my kilt wearing.

I feel your pain, but I back you 100% on this one, Robert. A couple of months ago I bought an '84 Yamaha 650 Heritage Special, and riding it is one the the few times I wear...gasp...trousers. However, I WAS wearing my UK when I took it for a test ride.
Like you the main reason for buying this bike was to save a bit of money on my twice-daily commute into work. So far it's helped. I will be slowly restoring the bike, though.

Yeah, the V4 may just be the street engine configuration around: decent redline, good torque, narrow and short in the bike. It's a pity that the V4 configuration only lives on in the VMax and the Interceptor-I always thought Honda missed the boat by not bumping the VFR's displacement to at least a liter....that would've been quite a sport-touring bike.

Suzuki did this one right. Hydraulic lifters for the valves, shaft drive(no driveline lash) Narrow profile, and smooth running, electronic ignition. I'm impressed with the bike and the price was within my budget. I agree they should have built it in a sport tourer configeration, it would have been awsome

[best father O'Brian voice] You must not torture yourself. We are men and men, like this world, are not perfect. It is perfectly natural to wear troosers in times of need, but you must be careful not to look for reasons.

I'm thinking its okay to wear pants when you're riding, as long as you wear a kilt when you go to court to fight the speeding tickets; almost a "cause and effect" sort of thing.
Bryan...but don't forget to wear a tie (it impresses the judge)...
