That's not quite what I was saying but, on reflection, yes charcoal hose and jacket alone would work very well. I am not so sure about the charcoal tie however - too much charcoal perhaps - although it would still look neat, especially with a plain white shirt. My preference would be for the tie to be in a lighter shade of grey, such as the one that might be worn with Morning Dress, just for the contrast. If you decide on a charcoal tie, please make sure it is exactly the same shade as the jacket. Since tie and jacket are so much in close proximity, a slight difference will be much more noticeable. If in doubt, go for the light grey.
