The funny thing is that I can still get into all of my kilts (oh, with the exception of two early Utilikilts, which are not adjustable), but a couple of the older 'traditionals' are now a little short in the wearing!

Well that might not have helped, Colin. They were extremely generous. However, I cannot lay the blame at their feet - my 'problem' began long before I went over to Vancouver!
Anyway, why blame the Fangs? I am sure the several glasses of rather nice wine that I consumed in a certain garden in Port Moody, whilst watching for Persid meteors, played their part too!!

Today, in an effort to distract my self from my serious little problem, since it was past business hours and the SS office was closed, I did some calculations about my diet.
On average, I am only getting 900 to 1100 calories a day. Rough estimate, give or take one hundred points.
This is not acceptable. I should be hitting at least 1300 to 1600 according to my doctors. Depending on my activities for the day.
Bother. I need to figure out what to do to fix that. That might slow down the weight loss. I could probably stand to lose more weight, but I know for certain I am losing muscle mass, which is never good. So I need to up my calories a bit.
Today though, I think I got my calorie fill. I devoured a whole fruit basket given to me by somebody that hates fruit baskets as a gift. Woo. One grapefruit, three oranges, 2 sour green apples, a bosc pear, one mango, a banana, some grapes, one tangelo, a nectarine, and 2 plums. My wife helped a bit. She ate the peaches.
What can I say... I hadn't eaten anything all day and I was ravenous.

Unless you can't eat them, try packing some nuts into your diet. I know you're trying the vegetarian route, and nuts carry a lot of calories. Also try olives and avocados. Lots of good fats.
