I mean bellys curve, or do you cinch tight so it is like dare I say, a girdle? please help me here. that is the only thing I am worried about with it. plus I have seen men with bellys wearing sporrans that hang below their belly and it REALLY accentuates it.

Depending on how I sit the belt usually slides up my belly. I do have the problem with teh lower belly sporran thing. It is one of the two unflattering things about my kilted experiance. I use a leather belt on the last notch to let the sporran sit where it will hold the kilt down when I am sitting (it does ok in that regard, but not good) but when it sits there it kinda frames my belly between my belt and the sporran.

At 5'8" and 170lbs I shouldnt have *that* much of a belly but I think I have a fairly high body fat percentage due to no workout to speak of and not watching what I eat (though I avoid mashed potatoes when I can and I have given up pop all together, I replaced it with black tea, juice, milk with ovaltine (the only way it won't upset my stomache), and the occasional coffee).

The other unflattering aspect of the kilt is without the tapered waist the pleats are pushed out and spread a little at my butt. So for me, my stillwater accentuates my butt and lower belly, though it is the only garment I have that never touches my shoes, so over the winter I should develop a hint of a tan if I wear it often enough.
