I agree with Jimmy - UK workman's are indestructable and the more you wash them the better they get. Was my first thought. Also thought for playing hockey the narrower apron would be helpful in manuvering. And he's right, they are warm.
Would guess your playful teamates or opponents would be tempted to hook your kilt and lift it with their sticks...
UK workman's would lend itself less to that.
Don't forget Pittsburgh Kilts for your multi-color look. Jeff already does the Black and Gold for the Steelers and most anything else you can dream up including your maroon kilt with white underpleats.
