Which has zip to do with the shearing process that produces the wool fibers for the mills. So, as Archangel pointed out, no sheep die in the collection of wool.

Sheep dont suffer from it. Its more like getting a haircut for the summer. Im sure they appreciate it, as we do when we get to wear those beautiful wool traditional kilts.

Okay, that would be an answer. I guess if I want to say something about the futility of the absolute of that statement I should go somewhere else. Sometimes I can be diplomatic.
(Shay, I also recognize you're the messenger of this statement, not the author.)

Hey as wonderful as your debating is coming along I was just kind of looking for a "hello" and "there are alternatives" if you know of some. Shay, Archangel there is reasons for not using honey, milk or wool but I would sooner be pm'd with a question. Like I said I am just looking for some help with alternatives insted of contemplating what is moral. I say this all with the best of intentions
Thanks

Vegan McKilit, right on and THANK YOU for brining us back on topic. I'm not Vegan nor Vegitarian and don't rightly care why anyone chooses to be one, that's not what this thread was intended for. So I'll say it again, much the same way I do on many other threads:
Welcome! Sit back, relax and make yourself at home, just don't put your feet on the furniture.

Erm, in case it was missed somehow, I listed several companies that make Vegan-Friendly kilts.
But I see I forgot to link them. Bother.
http://www.pittsburghkilts.com/index.shtml
http://www.freedomkilts.com/
http://www.utilikilt.com/
http://www.amerikilt.com
http://www.rkilts.com/
I don't know why I didn't make links before. Probably because it was late and I was loopy. My bad.

Non wool jackets? That's a toughie.
My best idea on that is find a custom tailor. Find a material that looks right, and have somebody custom make it. I have yet to see a jacket that wasn't wool.
Somebody else may know something I don't. I am not a snappy dresser... I am a delightfully grungy barbarian. Hamish or Todd are probably the ones to ask. Maybe Matt Newsome.
