    Made my day!

Well I had a great experience this morning that completely turned around my day. I had been running some errands, kilted of course, before going to work. After dropping off the girls at pre-school I needed to run to the storage lot, hitch up our RV, and take it to a dealer to have it winterized (which in itself is a strange thought for me since we just moved here from Florida, where the only frozen water we have to worry about it the ice floating in our drinks!). Well things went down hill as soon as I dropped of the kids. Had a work truck that was parked at a traffic light, but no flashers to identify he was not moving, so sat through 2 light cycles until he motioned me around (yeah, a little thing but annoyed me on a day when I had something I had to do and still get to the office at a reasonable time). Then I got almost to the storage lot and realized that I had not put the hitch into the receiver on the back of my truck, and it was sitting in the garage at home. Turned around and ran back home, got the hitch, back to storage, hitch up (another first in a kilt for me, hitching up the RV!), then drive to the dealer, which took longer than expected due to construction and traffic. Drop off at the dealers went fine, and headed back toward the office, and its almost 10:00am, when I thought
I would be in the office by 9:00 at the latest. So I was in a slightly grumpy/depressed mood and decided to stop at the local convenience store for a soda. A lady mail carrier walked in just ahead of me and was pouring herself a soda as I walked up to the soda machine. As I walked up she turned to me, glanced at the kilt, and said "You don't see many people wearing one of those", all in a very nice, conversational, "Its a nice day" tone of voice. I agreed and then said that you should see more of them. Her response was that she understood that they were very comfortable. I agreed that it was, put the top on my soda, paid, and left.

The point to this boring story in my life? I was in such a great mood after that little conversation! It washed away all the petty little annoyances (that I should probably ignore anyway) and let me just enjoy being alive!

    Cheers!

I love when something like that happens. Makes the day, even a crappy day, worth it. You never seem to get that from wearing pants.

Some times, it's good to stand out. It brings out the very best (or the very worst) in people. But when the good comes out, the clouds open, and the sun shines, makes all the little annoying things just go away and the soul is lifted.

Thanks for sharing. Made me feel better reading it.

Dread, any sunshine or good feelings that I can send your way, I will! And if you don't get enough, ask for more! If I don't have a good kilted experience ready to share, I will make something up just for you!

Head up and spirit flying my friend!

And kilts come in POSTAL Blue too....from UK...or used to....

    Good story.

I came to work today to find my new SportKilt had arrived (had to have it shipped to work since they only use air freight). A bunch of ladies were waiting to see the new kilt. All positive attention. Pointed out the Stuart Black fit the local high school colors and I'd wear it on game days. They liked that. All positive like the above.

It is great to hear how one simple kind comment can change a day.
