Come on Graham, you know as well as I do that beards are the ultimate kilt accessory

That really is a First-Class purchase, Graham, and it suits you so well. I like the charcoal hose with the charcoal jacket and waistcoat but, with the greatest respect to them I am not so sure about Raphael's suggestion, and Colin's endorsement, of a "silver tie" (I imagine they are, like me, picturing a silver-grey fabric rather than a shiny silver one!). I agree that a touch of silver on the sporran would be good, but I'd opt for a green silk tie to match the green in your kilt - a silver-grey tie right next to your silver-grey beard would be too much of a good thing being in such close proximity.
You'll have to be careful not to get too dressy/formal with any accessory since you do not have silver/shiny buttons on the new jacket and waistcoat. I am thinking here mainly of the sporran. Personally, I'd forget about the fur and look for one in smart black leather with a silver cantle - silver AND fur together can be very dressy and, I feel, would be too much this time.
It might be a nice touch if the flowers in your Wedding buttonhole matched the colours in your kilt, making a nice change from the 'regulation' Carnation!!
Sorry, Graham. You did not ask for my advice and I have jumped right in. I am sure you will do what YOU feel is comfortable and right for the occasion.

I will have to agree wholeheartedly with this one. In fact, just started one today, inspired by Graham's picture!

Hamish my friend, don't you EVER apologise to me for offering your advice, I welcome it.
I agree that the jacket is not a formal one, and that was intentional, so yes, fur would be out, I would like a sporran with some silver as in a cantel.
I hope you are not offended by Colin and I having the "ultimate kilt accessory"
Glad to here you are growing one Owl, I've had mine since I was old enough to grow one (over 35 years).
The flower is a good idea, perhaps the same as the other lads are wearing, and of course matching flashes, which I didn't have on in the piccie.
I'll see what I can get locally with the tie, we don't have any classy menswear places here.
(I love going into them, and when the salemen come to me I say.."sorry, I'm not here to buy trousers" then laugh with a wicked laugh)

Hamish, I know that Graham has expressed his desire for your input, and I would like to add that the idea of a tie matching a color in the tartan, while possible obvious to some, to me is a brilliant stroke! It would tie in the whole ensemble.
On a side note, I am not a fan of any of the "formal" sporrans. Just not an animal fur fan. The most I can see myself doing is a nice black leather sporran with a pewter cantel.

Hamish, the green silk tie will be hard to get here, as is the sporran.
Any leads on where to get them online would be appreciated.
