Pittsburgh Kilts: Yay or nay?

The fabric is so soft, it's unbeleivable. It does wrinkle, so it won't look crisp and sharp wihtout care, but the material is tough, comfortable and good looking! definitely a thumbs up!

This question is specifically for Jewddha and anyone else who owns a twill PK:

Compared to acrylic kilts (i.e., SWK), how often and how greatly does the cotton twill wrinkle with daily wear (in your experience)? I realize everyone's different and the environs in which we wear our kilts vary greatly but a high and or frequent 'ease of wrinkling' factor will definitely keep me away from the PK. I simply do not have the time to be ironing a kilt every time I put it on, nor do I wish to walk around looking like I just rolled out of bed because my kilt is easily wrinkled. Obviously, all kilts wrinkle and some less often than others but I'm looking for a 'wrinkling comparison' between cotton twill and acrylic fabric kilts in particular.

The wrinkling issue is what I've been expecting (waiting?) to hear about these kilts...and Jewddha, thanks for bringing this up.

Not only does Jeff produce a great product, his customer service is outstanding.

When I first got my kilt from him, he had forgotten the back pocket. When I informed him, he asked that I send it back for correction and he would reimburse my postage. When he received the kilt back, he put it at top priority and had it right back out to me.

Although I don't plan to immediately reorder from him, as I have a few tartan kilts at the top of my list, I won't hesitate to do so in the future.

MacSimoin, I can't compare to an acrylic (my only other kilt is a poly-cotton FK), but I can say that I would not wear it to anywhere "fancy" without a touch-up. I wear it most days after just snapping out the pleats, but most of my days means high school. If you're dead-set on the 12 oz. twill, I think you'll find the same problem anywhere, because of the nature of the material (that being cotton). Now if you don't mind a lighter weight kilt, I would consider looking at Freedom Kilts (the 9.5 oz. poly-cotton looks sharp and dressy with little to no care). ANother option is to e-mail Jeff, and ask what he has, I know when i got mine made, he was extremely helpful in looking around for alternate fabrics, colours and patterns for me, so I suggest asking him about it before discounting ordering from him.

I just went downstairs after posting that and looked at my kilt. In all honesty, after running my hand sover it and smoothing out the pelats (maybe... 45 seconds?) it looks pretty sharp, and the aprons didn't look bad at all. If you were to keep yours on hangers, I'm sure that would help it also. (my talk about pleats has to do with the fact that mine is a two-tone, the pleat edges tend to curl a fair bit, but to my knowledge that's not an issue with his single fabric kilts).
