You are right on! While the individual cost of the accessories is not much compared to the kilt, you need SOOO many of them. And kilt hose is the major one, but I have also found that the shirts I would wear with pants are hard to wear with a kilt and match with the right hose and shoes. Got a deal on shoes this weekend though, 2 pairs of lace up "chunkier" shoes. One pair in black and one in brown, which should work for just about any occasion. For dressy I can go back to the black tasseled dress shoes.
I must say though, it is fun trying to put together an ensemble in the morning!
