The question: "Kilted, huh? So you been playing street hockey today?"

This is what the bag boy asked me as he sacked the my late night grocery run. Then he smiled and said he just had to ask me something unkilt related since he figured I get the same old kilt questions all the time.

Got a good laugh from a good-natured kid and just had to share the moment. Pretty creative.... and conjured a fairly comical picture of me on inline skates. LOL

He got your attention, eh? I suppose it was a good response. I appreciate someone who thinks before they make a comment. But just for the record, if you were to play street hockey in Canada it would be called *road* hockey and you wouldn't be wearing inline skates - we play in our regular footware, it's a running game. And the most important thing to learn is to yell "car" when necessary.

Very perceptive and thoughtful person. Went beyond wondering why you were wearing the kilt to think about the questions you must always get, then decided to lighten it up with something totally different.
Have to agree about the street hockey visual!

I remember the days before inline skates when we played street hockey with our sneakers. It was more fun.

And we were lucky enough to be able to play it on a cul-de-sac where we never had to yell "car" because the people who lived around it either didn't drive or, in the case of one, worked 12 hour days and never left his house after he got home. The choice days were after it snowed when we could actually build up a wall around the open side and never had to worry about the ball rolling down the hill.

Ahhh, memories...
