			Fancy Sporran Straps

I just recieved my Freelander Sporran; it's BOOOOTIFUL!!! However, I've run into a problem. It seems that, while artisans put a lot of work into creating sporrans, no-one does a really nice strap. I've seen a lot of ulitarian leather and leather/chain straps, but the best design that I've been able to find in an all leather strap is a "mystery braid" coming down from the sides.
What I'm envisioning is a tight round braid coming over the hips and down to the sporran. If you've seen a high quality whip, you'll know what I mean; something that's tight with no rough edges showing, while still supple enough to drape against the body.

I've seen nicely done horse gear like this; couldn't some of those companies produce something for us as a sideline?

I've been thinking the same way. I like the look of a round braid and have been checking some of the tack stores to see if they know of anyone locally who can do this. I've seen the one at Rkilts and like it,although something a bit lighter in color is what I like.

Hmmm, that might be the image that first sparked my idea. I knew I'd seen one somewhere. The image is kind of grainy, but it looks like the raw edge of the weaving is still showing. It's definately closer to what I'm seeing in my mind. What I'm hoping to find eventually is somethingthat's woven to this quality.

I've thought about learning to use a whip, but never felt like spending the money, those things are expensive!!

I've seen that saying in your avatar severl times recently and have to admit I have no clue. Even seen it in the comics.

Iolaus: sorry for jumping to conclusions. But if you ever get that whippin' urge again, there are a lot of folks that sell good whips made from nylon parachute cord. Affordable and durable.
