Can I use Argyll with normal dark shoes and day sporran? (Rob Roy sporran with thistle on the flap)

I'm sure that would be fine. Most people won't know the difference anyway..

As Paul said, most people won't know the difference. That being said, the shoes and sporran should both be black, as that is the dressier color. Any good pair of dress shoes would be fine. Many people don't even wear the ghillies for formal wear.

I think if you wore a regular (straight length) tie as opposed to a bow tie, you'll be fine.

My inclination is to wear respectful attire without being flashy. Thus I would wear a clean (brushed up) day or semi-dress, clean dress shoes, dark hose and flashes, off white or grey shirt with a suitable color plain tie.

in bottle green. And the Argyll and waistcoat in the pcture is also same type i was going to wear. And I ordered MacLean Hunting Ancient tartan kilt from this shop so I think it fits with green tie and green flashes.

I know that nobody knows the difference but I will and it will drive me crazy!
