Go with the granite, it's simply beautiful.Btw have you seen the grey Douglas, I saw it the other day in a kilt hire shop in Aberdeen and it also is superb.

You can't go wrong with either. Personally, I'd go with the Saltire. It would be MUCH more fun explaining it to the non-kilted who know just enough to ask "What tartan is that?"
Congratulations on the 20th. I would prefer the granite in any case, but I think it is particularly appropriate for an anniversary. Just the name "granite" suggests strength and permanence, which seems particularly suitable on this occasion.
