Kilts & Beards

I've had my beard for 11 years now. Before that, I would grow one from time to time in the winter, then shave it off for summer, except of course for the three years in the Army when it was no beard allowed.

I guess I grew mine because I got tired of shaving, although I do still have to trim is up around the edges. I keep mine trimmed fairly close; it hardly ever gets longer than one inch in length.

I do sometimes feel out of place when I'm the only one around with a beard, but I figure it's my face!

I like a goatee and sideburns, but shave it all off for 18th Century Reenacting. Beards on Highlanders is one of my big pet peves in reenacting.

I had a beard for most of my adult life but divorced it once I started looking like santa. My new passion is my moustache, I'm about 3 years into a 5 (or more) year project.

After looking at and corresponding with these folk I am putting in my application for membership, they will even accept me in a kilt. (lol)

I have had a moustache sence my jr grade in high school, the only time it came off was in bootcamp at Pairis Island. After the Corps I grew a full beard,, big old puffy thing ,, had it for a bout two years ,, then came the Vandyke I grew it to 16" in length ,, after I had that for about 6yrs I cut it and went with the Poncho Villia style,that was about 10" long for a few years.
I just had a full beard but while trimming it with my straight razor I messed up so know I have a nice neat little Vandyke..I have a bit of gray and white but it looks good mixed in with the darker red.
