    New Member from Georgia

Just wanted to introduce myself to everyone. First off I am married to a wonderful lady that I adore. My Name is Alan and We live just north of Atlanta. I recieved my first kilt in Jan 2005 . As you can see I am relativily new to wearing a kilt but I am hooked. My first kilt is a traditional 16 oz 8 yd in the Macleod of Harris tartan. I have since purchased a solid black heavyweight stillwater. As I said, I am hooked. for the last months I have been trying my hand at making some casual kilts in solid and camo colors. I researched web sited about kilt making and I examined the two kilts I purchased and thought that I could make them. I completed the camo kilt about two weeks ago and it looks really good. In fact the only problem is that I measured myself for this kilt two months ago and because of the time and effort I have put into making the kilts (did I say that I have a total of 4 in progress, two for me, one for my son and one for a friend) I have lost a total of 2 inched in the waist and the camo kilt is now too large. I also just completed making a solid black kilt yesterday and I am very pleased with it. Oh well, guess I will have to make another one. Anyway I just wanted to say that for the last three weeks I have been reading the posts in this forum and am impressed with everyone here. Everyone here is helpfull and seems to really care about the promotion of kilt wearing. Although I don't wear a kilt full time I am finding that I am wearing my kilts a lot more often. Well enough of this novel, Hello all.

    Welcome Snipe,

It is great to have another kilt wearer from the North side of Atlanta, I am not a full time kilt wearer either, but I keep finding more and more events where I can wear my kilt.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, it will be be a great day for wearing the kilt.

Glad you're here. Is there any military meaning to your handle?

I tried to post a picture of the kilt last night but I couldn't get it to work. I will try again when I figure it out.

the military meaning: snipe is a slang word in the Navy for Hull Technicians.

The size of the kilt is a 42 waist and a 24 length. I think the hip measurement is a 44. It has been a while since I made the measurement.
