See...this is one of those things for me: Thanksgiving is a US holiday...but it should certainly be celebrated throughout the world...and that goes for the holidays of every culture and nation in my book. Think of the year being one big string of celebrating EVERYBODYS holidays and all of us being conscious and considerate of EVERYBODY ELSE'S histories and beliefs.
So we in the US should happily share Thanksgiving with all nations and let's hear it on Cinco de Mayo and Canada Day and Bastille Day and let's all get it together to have a kind word for those who celebrate Hannukah and Easter and (I'm sorry, I forget the name of it) that last day of Rahmadan when the fasting is over...
...let's all raise a glass to the Queen on her birthday and to the Emperor of Japan on his birthday...how bout we toast Nelson Mandela on his...this could (and should) go on forever.
