    Mall Fun

I still contend that some of the most fun our ladies can have is to follow behind us about 20 or 30 paces as we walk the mall and watch all the reactions people have to us after we've passed them.

I couldn't care less what it screams, I WILL NOT BE PUT OFF, I will wear whatever I chose,my father wore his kilt when he lived there and so I will too..This is what I call normal clothes.

Besides, wearing a kilt In Scotland by anyone screams tourist in my little experience!

Unfortunatly it does, which is a shame really, maybe its time that perception was changed. !
the further north you head the more likely you are to see the Kilt worn casually, I am suprised that youve no seen more, although your more likely to see them in the evening than during the day in a shopping centre.

Maybe on Wednesday youll see a few more. hope your settling in Ranald, have you been down the Booly yet and watch the car neds burn out thier tyres?

I think we would all agree with that, but how do you do that? and if you cannot do it in Scotland...then where can you change such perceptions?

    Big question!

well its up to people like Ranald and myself to get out there and flash some Tartan, actually in most towns and cities theres normally a piper busking in the town centre, and on special occasions you see plenty of Kilts.

Thanks Daz for your kind words, kinder than mine I might add, I thought you was having a dig..Sorry.

Settling in , yes we(the family) love it here, the girls are coming home from school with Scots accents and they've only been there three weeks!

Your right it is up to the likes of you and I to get that message out there (in Scotland)that wearing the kilt is a suitable alternative. The best way I reckon is to just wear your kilt when-ever and where-ever you can.

Seen very few neds up here so far, and I have no idea what the booly is, this kind of behaviour I thought or rather hoped we left behind in grey ol' London.

Would love to met up some day after we've found a more perm residence which is taking up our spare time at weekends ,looking in the Elgin Moray area as we have a good friend there and the land is still beautiful.
    Best wishes my friend.
    Richard.

Have been reading this thread with some interest, and must admit that I really did not like going to the Mall before I started wearing the Kilt. Shows people especially at the high end "fashion malls" that kilts are eternal in their class.

Yes as long as people continue to "flash the tartan" as Daz has said it will become less of an issue.
