Dings and Drying the Blaxnit sox from Sierra Trading Company
Okay, first, have found out why the Blaxnit sox from Sierra Trading Co. are labled "seconds."
So far, have found a hole in the toe of one, like where it wasn't all caught in the toe seam at the factory. About half the size of a dime. Just sewed it up.
Another is a LOT tighter than its mates, probably a mis-sizing, but serviceable.
And then a grease spot on the front of a gold sock. Soaked it in shout and it came out in the wash.
Some of the olive drab sox seem to have some grey yarn in them. Have colored the spots with an olive drab Sharpie and they're not noticeable.
So, they really are seconds and may take some minor repairs.
ALSO, have followed the recommendations on my Scottish kilt hose and put them in the dryer after washing to sort of tighten them up.
The instructions on the Blaxnit South African sox say to hang them dry, which I've been doing. But I'm tempted to try drying them in the dryer to see what happens. Anyone risked that yet? Any results to report?
Thanks,
Ron
