Nice. Very nice. You do justice to Geoffrey (Tailor).

Just look at the alignment of the pleats, the crisp edges, the perfect drape, the "wrap" of the apron, and the overall quality in the craftsmanship. And there are people who don't understand why you have to pay more with certain makers.
Take that along with the immaculate match in the acccessories, and that tartan kilt is nothing less than outstanding! Add in that it's a 16 ounce WOOL kilt with that tight of an appearance and that's just awesome!
Hamish, of all your kilts that I've viewed, this one may just be my personal favorite.![Cheers!](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_beer.gif)
~Nice choice in pleating to the stripe!~;)

It is so well done. Of course, you've also finished off the outfit perfectly.
By the way, where do you get your kilt socks? I want to get some new ones and I like yours.
Many thanks for the compliments, but it's all down to the tartan and, more importantly, the kiltmaker - Geoffrey (Tailor) of Edinburgh. I am just a clothes-horse!
The kilt hose? Well, I am constantly on the look-out for hose in colours I do not already have and will buy from any source that has reasonable quality - I seldom go for 'bargain-basement' products since I am a firm believer in that one only gets what one pays for! The grey hose I'm wearing in these photos came from www.scottishkilts.net from whom I also picked up several other pairs in August. I opted for these because they are lighter in colour than the charcoal grey that so many retailers have.
There are over 80 suppliers of Highland Dress and accessories that I have bookmarked, and I often browse them for something new and different.
Hope that helps!

It's good innit Rob? I just love it. Yes, one immediately thinks of grey, black and white shirts to wear with this Grey Thistle Dubh tartan and, whilst pastel shades most likely will not work, I have high hopes of being able to wear some of my plain jewel colour shirts with it - Ruby red, Emerald green, Sapphire Blue, deep purple, etc. It will need rich, deep colours - nothing pale or insipid!
I am not absolutely sure, Rob, but I believe this tartan is to be launched generally in the New Year. Best to keep an eye on their website, but if I hear anything earlier, I'll post here with the information.

Arrrrrgh. I was admiring the kilt pin, and now I find from the website that you can't buy it without a kilt from Geoffrey! Poop. I will have to find something else.
