Outdressing the women folk
I remember someone (not sure who) writing a while back. That thier wife felt she had to make an effort to dress better because her man allways looked more refined & dressed-up when wearing a kilt.
Well I was told the same thing this weekend.
A case of cabin fever led us to take a drive to Salt Lake City. So we got ready to go & I was wearing black boots with those olive socks from Sierra Trading Post, my kilt & leather jacket. She came out of the bedroom looked at me & said that I looked so nice that she would look out of place next to me. She then went back into the bedroom changed into a someting a little dessier.
I could'nt help but laugh because I remembered someone else posting about this situation too. Then I had to explain to her why I was laughing so she would'nt think I'd lost my mind (well any more than ussual) & she found it quite humorous too.
Then while in the big city we stopped at a little Scottish import store & I picked-up a set of red flashes to add a little extra color to my outfit.
Now my belt just needs to get here & I'll be more or less complete unless the sporan bug bites. 8-)

John,
I hate to tell you this, but the sporran bug will bite!
Great tale and glad that you and your wife were able to class up all those that you came in contact with!

Hey John, oh neighbor to the north.
Tell me more about the Scottish Import store...SLC is a days drive for me. Might make a nice weekend for my lady and I.
Guessing they're not open on Sunday in SLC....? So would probably have to take some time off.
And, on topic to the thread...look at the bird world where the males display the plumage...we're just taking back what women usurped from us

I remember the Dead Goat Pub...or bar...wanted a T-shirt, cool logo...but what a scruffy place...don't know that I woulda drank there in my best boozing days...still want a t-shirt....
Something to add to the list.
With the hot springs between here and SLC not sure I could make it up and back in less than month or so ;-)
Hook up for sure if it comes to pass.

It's the Dead Goat Saloon. The mirror, shelves & bar were salvaged from an old saloon in Montana IIRC. Anyway I've only been in there one time when the elevator mechanic I was working with had to talk to the owner.
There was a great little chinese resturant hidden away in the middle of that same block where we went for lunch a few times. They had an awsome egg drop soup, but I spend so little time up there any more that I don't know if they're still there or not. ??:
