Go taske a look online at www.uniformalwearhouse.com and root around for the polyester, black single button

    SINGLE BUTTON
    Eton jacket.

Under $40, with a cutaway front for your sporran, and you're killer.

I might be too late for this, though.

Alan, you are a genius. That is one of the potentially most useful sites I've ever seen....love the hunter green eton jacket! And I could use a chef's jacket as well...

p.s.: I sse that there's a fat tax on these jackets as well.

Careful on the three button Etons!!!!! Trust me, you'll look like the guy serving the mashed potatoes at dinner. However, the one button Eton is a totally different animal.

Buy that single button Eton and then hit ebay for 7-8 silver or pewter celtic buttons. Add three to each side of the closure in the usual place that the Prince Charlies' have 'em. Then use one to close the jacket. If you're really into it, stitch a second buttonhole directly opposite the one that's already there, right where the existing black button is. Then take two silver celtic buttons and link them with two-three links of silver (or chromed) chain. Now close the jacket with those two buttons, run through the two buttonholes. That's a *Very* dressy closure, and you did it for peanuts. Six more celtic buttons on the sleeves to replace the inexpensive ones that they put on there, and you're truly stylin' and you didn't spend $60. You could also just leave the buttons alone, and it'd still look great.

If you want a tuxedo for those very rare occasions, these guys have the ticket in their polyester tuxes.

    Hey Toad,

I've got all the fashion sense of a Western Red Neck...but two thoughts came to mind.

One, along the lines of the sweater vest. Maybe there's a short cardigan sweater lurking in a thrift store somewhere in just the right color.

Two, there was a thread a while back on how to make your own flashes...you could probably search it up.

And then, having lived in North Carolina for many years my other thought was, who's gonna know/care...? Especially in a college environment where there's a wide tolerance for "fashion."

Hope you have lots of fun putting together "your look."
