Hunting Stewart I made
Well, I finally got a couple pictures taken of the kilt I made. They're crappy pictures though... best I could do taking pictures of myself with a timer and a crappy camera
Me, in the kilt. Just threw the hoodie on to have something going on up top.
And the pleats.
It's a hunting Stewart, in Celtic Croft's hand-woven wool. Not bad material for a first shot at this, but certainly not the greatest. The weave is relatively loose, so the pleats aren't perfectly straight. That's one reason I wear shirts untucked with this one
I'll try to get some better pictures sometime.

That's still a hell of a lot better than anything I could sew.

Chasem,
Castigate yourself all you wish (and we are all harder on ourselves than others are on us), but that looks like a pretty much perfect pleat to the stripe to me, and the picture is close enough to verify it. Unless of course you were pleating to the sett, and then I have to say that you were a little less than 100%...

Commend yourself as that is one fine looking kilt! The pleating looks wonderful.

How well do the pleats stay crisp? I was thinking of ordering some of their hand woven fabric, but then they said that that type of cloth doesn't hold a pleat as well. But they look nice and crisp in your pics. So, what's your opinion/experience so far with that?

I've worn it three or four times since I've finished it. I wasn't expecting much crispness from the pleats either, as I had read that on the site as well. They've remained pretty crisp so far though.
Thanks for the compliments guys

Thanks! At $30/yd, that's the most inexpensive wool fabric on their site. The Braveheart stuff is just a little more at $45/yd. I may have to order some myself.
