I'm trying to decide what to wear to my wife's work Christmas party (my wife's a junior high teacher).

I've almost settled on this.



The shirt is an "Arrogant Bastard Ale" t-shirt. I figure it's ok, because they asked me to go in on the keg with them. My wife says I should wear a santa hat as well, I'm not sure she's kidding!

Here's another, with the socks pulled up, but I think the socks look better pushed down.

I usually go with the socks up or down based on weather; in all honesty, I think the socks look fine both ways.

I asked my wife that question, and she indicated that she would not be dressing "to the nines", but that she'd throw on a nice sweater or something. For the most part, it's a very young faculty; most of the male teachers are in their late 20s - early 30s and tend to be very casual about their dress.

Oh, and they're very used to seeing me in my brown UK workman, but this will be the first for a "traditional.

Obviously, my final decision will be influenced by She Who Must Be Obeyed. ;)

In that case I would still wear the hose up and a button up shirt, but other than that, the kilt looks great.

Go with the socks up ... and definitely go with the Santa Hat. After all, who is going to remember a guy in a kilt? :-)
