Unless this will lead to domestic unrest, I'd jump at the new tank, then wait untill January and order the Freedom kilt!

Bryan...I don't think Hamish would disagree when I say that you can't have too many kilts...

Go with the "tank" and then get the Freedom Kilt, as others have said earlier, we never can have too many kilts. And be grateful that you do have the support from the one you love.

I couldn't agree more!! Being blessed with a wife that supports me in most everything I do this isn't a problem I've encountered but this isn't the first time it has come up here. I seem to recall that the bottom line has always been "no kilt is worth a relationship".

In your slippers I would agree...for now. Casual kilts could be the topic of a discussion at a later date. Perhaps he has, to him, a sound reason for objecting. Must say though that I think him right, boots aren't really for dressing up and going out.

Perhaps you would be interested in the new Dress Model Freedom Kilt.

Your choice of waist heighth, Low on the hip, at the naval, or full rise.
    3 buckle closure, and a 3" waistband.
    No buttons on the apron
All the pocket options would be available, but of course, you can have none.
I will be releasing the new model right after the Holidays.

You could pose it to him that the Freedom Kilt is the tank of the casual kilts. And this new option that Steven has presented is pretty impressive.

As someone who does not have a tank nor a budget that will allow for even the thought of getting one I am envious that you even have this dilemma.

If the money is there in your household budget, go for the tank offer, but that won't mean the resistance to the FK will go away. And since he is willing to spend more money to keep you out of an FK, there must be something about it he doesn't like.

I guess there is more to this than just a fashion issue. Not that it is any of my (or our) business, but I am curious to learn his reasons for not liking post-modern kilts.

Regardless, I hope all works out well for you two.
