    My future jacket - help!

    Ladies and Gents

I'm making my "I want it" list for 2006. At the top, after a kilt is a good kilt jacket.

I see what I want at Scottishkilts.net. I like this, and it is what I really want:

But I see this also, and I don't like it as much.

There is a difference in the cut, and it isn't just a look with or without a vest.

For those of you who have purchased a jacket and vest in charcoal from Scottishkilts.net, which did you order and which did you end up with.

I really don't like the second one. The first one has more of a gentle sweep to the cut, the second is too sharp for me.

    Please advise, and help!

First time I've ever seen a kilt jacket with three buttons.

You could mail them and ask if they'd be willing to substitute the first jacket and waistcoat for the jacket included in the outfit.

Both are fine looking jackets and will be very versatile. The colors go with just about anything. I think the darker color is a bit more formal looking though.

For my part, I just don't like the sharp point that the jacket comes to at the end of the lapels in the second jacket. I like the sweep of the first, and it will work better for me anyway.

I'm not interested in the outfit package, I'll be ordering just the jacket and vest.

I just wanted to know if someone got one instead of the other.

I've heard nothing but good from those of you who ordered from Scottishkilts.net, and the first jacket is the one I really would like.

If you ordered it, please post and let me know if you got what this looks like or if you got what the second jacket looks like. I think you will agree they are cut slightly differently.

Personally, I like the first one. I'm not an owner of one so I can't comment further on it.This is what I have, courtesy of E-Bay. It's a Harris Tweed,100% wool. Note-the one I have is identical to the pic, which I borrowed from Scottishkilts.

I like them all, however I do lean more toward your favorite, as it does look good with the vest.

The single button, gray tweed is real classy, too.

I have the jacket and waistcoat (cost was about $292 USD) and I quite like them.
