Perhaps you would be interested in the new Dress Model Freedom Kilt.
Your choice of waist heighth, Low on the hip, at the naval, or full rise.
3 buckle closure, and a 3" waistband.
No buttons on the apron
All the pocket options would be available, but of course, you can have none.
I will be releasing the new model right after the Holidays.

I wear the kilt because: Swish + Swagger = Swoon.

You could pose it to him that the Freedom Kilt is the tank of the casual kilts. And this new option that Steven has presented is pretty impressive.
As someone who does not have a tank nor a budget that will allow for even the thought of getting one I am envious that you even have this dilemma.

Well, I've been thinking about getting a Khaki Casual Kilt from Freedom Kilts and I suggested that. It was like I'd run into a brick wall. He wouldn't hear of it. He loves me in kilts, and thinks I look studly (you gotta love the permanent beer goggles that love creates) in a kilt. But he thinks a kilt can only be tartan and worn in the traditional manner, which is why I'm also not allowed to wear a kilt with boots. :x
I've been informed that if I want a new kilt it's going to be a tank or nothing at all.
So this is my quandary. Do I try to press the issue and get the one I'm jonesing for, or do I take the offer to buy another incredibly expensive tank and run with it? My tanks have come from Hector Russel so they are about 4 times the cost of a Freedom Kilt.
As I write this I'm feeling rather stupid. A part of me is saying "GET ANOTHER TANK YOU FOOL!" But then I'm also thinking, "But I wanted a khaki kilt for a more casual look."
What would you guys do?
If I were you i'd push the issue and get four casuals, money talks!!
Appart from that, you must be true to yourself, go with your heart.

Well I've decided. I'm getting a Premier from Rocky at USA Kilts. I've been wanting one of his kilts so this seems like the perfect opportunity.
So now it comes down to choice of tartans. Let me know what you guys think.
One I'm thinking of is the Weathered MacKay.
I'm also considering the Blue MacKay (aka Morgan)
And even though it is more common for ladies, I'm still partial to the Strathnaver District Tartan because that is actually where my blood comes from.
I already have an Ancient MacKay which is my favorite tartan (wearing it right now).
Finally, the Clan MacKay Society of America has registered a Dress MacKay for our Clan Society but it's not in production anywhere. Which is too bad because I like it.
So what do you guys think? I'm open to suggestions. And sorry about the size of the first two tartans. Those were the best photos I could find and I'm linking to their sites.

That's actually kind of funny because those are the two that I'm having the most trouble deciding between.
