That said, I'd go with Glassman's suggestion for a jacket; a tux is probably too formal.
That jumped out at me, too. To my eye, it ruins what would otherwise be a very nice outfit.

possingk - I like how your lady's eyes match your kilt hose.

Haven't purchased from them yet but J. H. Higgins offers good prices, selection and they're in the US so shipping might be less painful:

Thanks for the link! For only $199, that'll probably be where I eventually buy from. Shipping is only $15.00, too.

Ok, here is really the only option i have for this luncheon:

I had to brighten the pics a bit, so quality is not the best.

I tried wearing the tux jacket, but it looked terrible. It was too long.

So, will this fly for a luncheon?

BTW, the hose are cream/off white.

I think you look fine. And if you feel you absolutely must be dressier just throw a regular blazer on. I don't think you'll need one, because you already will look better than any other guy there.

And BTW, I spent 5th Grade in Cary!

Hey, your shoe is untied. No, really it is ;)

I'd be inclined to add a vest, black or navy blue, to break up that vast field of red.

    Or a tie, at least.

I could probably add a tie easier than a vest. I'll have to go out and see if I can find myself a nice navy blue solid tie this weekend.

Thanks guys! I appreciate the advice.

As soon as I can afford one, I think I'm going to invest in an argyle. My next item after that will be a semi-dress sporran.

Any other suggestions would still be welcomed.

    Red face

    Avonlea,
I think the kilt, sporran, hose, and shoes look fine. But I think the red shirt is a bit much. If we go back to Hamish's guide to a balanced outfit, I think a white dress shirt would be better. The balance would be that the hose and shirt match, the flashes match a minor color in the kilt, and I think the tie ought to match the flashes. The kilt should be the center of attention. I just think the red shirt would over power the kilt.
