My prejudice is toward the Weathered, but alas they are all fine looking tartans. Good Luck on your decision, not easy I know.

I like the blue better also, but the weathered would be my second choice.

Can't decide myself between the weathered and the blue. You can't go wrong with either. Look at your other kilts and see what you don't have in terms of color.
Also, am I mistaken, or are "dress" tartans generally, generally, worn by women?
I realize I may be opening a can of worms here, and I do not intend to offend. It's just what my Scottish wife always told me.
And I always do what I'm told. That's why I'm so happily married.

Yeah, dress tartans are very strongly associated with women. But I like the look of it so much I don't care.

Dress Tartans tend to have a lot of white in them , dress gordon is a good example, and its a popular "hire" Tartan Ive seen a lot of Gents wear dress Gordon, Ive never seen anyone challanged about it.

I also think they both would make a nice kilts, I just prefer the weathered.

I like the weathered, it will be better for mixing and matching different colors.

I've come to a decision
Okay, I've looked at my closet to see where the biggest holes in my wardrobe are and I've thought about it for a while, and now I've made a decision.
It was a close race between the Weathered MacKay and the Blue MacKay, and this was a tough choice to make.
I'm just going to have to have Rocky make me two premier kilts, one Weathered & one Blue!
I know, it's quite Solomon-like to come up with a way to deal with this conundrum, but it was the only decision I could possibly make.
Now I only hope Rocky has access to both tartans with his current suppliers. It would really stink if he couldn't get them!

A very wise choice. They are both great looking tartans, one quick question now that you made your decision in that vain, do you intend to change your name to Solomon?

No but I have considered AMINADAB just for the fun of it.
