Glassman, I know an author who flies Hooters Airlines whenever he can. Not only are their stewardess nice looking, the service is actually GOOD, with people that want your trip to be a pleasant one.

Havent flown them myself, because I dont fly often nor anywhere that Hooters flies to or from. Wouldnt mind though, even for the extra price to be treated like a VIP on an airline.

(remember, for your average airline customer 'service' is the same kind of service a bull gives to a cow...)

Kind of makes a man (especially an old fart like me) wear his kilts to hooters.

Phew! Thankfully that's about 200 miles from here. I've never been to Nottingham and am hardly likely to now!! Thanks for the warning, Paul!

I know what you mean. I'm one of those that just can't get used to this downgraded service in airlines. The last few times I've flown I've always paid extra to be in at least business class.

    Hooters

Well, Ham, you probably wouldn't be the first one to get indigestion there--people don't go to Hooters for the gourmet cuisine, anyway.

So why do you suppose they go there?

If you ever do get to Nottingham, please do favor us with a remembrance of your visit!

Just as I thought! It strikes me as being yet another fast-food outlet, although I could be wrong, but no purveyor of decent food needs tacky gimmicks like that!

I dread to think. Do they have private rooms somewhere out behind the kitchens?

It is most unlikely but, yes, of course I will!!

[PS: I am sure Nottingham is a charming old town - home of Robin Hood, he of the green tights (Graham would feel very much at home there;)) - but I am still not thinking of paying a visit.]

You've got it right Hamish. Although there food is okay, it certainly is nothing to brag about.

Actually, they market themselves as a family restaurant. You can be sure though that most of the patrons are men! The purpose of the Hooters Girls is to provide a friendly atmosphere.

A funny remark I heard happened in San Antonio, Texas. They have a Riverwalk there which is lined with many restaurants and tourist type places. As part of the setting, they have small boats which travel up and down the river with tour guides. I overheard a tour guide as he passed the Hooters there:

"And on your right is Hooters, better known as day care for men."

The Hooters is on the bottom floor of a shopping mall, and I can just imagine some husband, dreading a bout of shopping, telling his wife, "You go have fun honey. When you're finished, I'll be here having a soda or something.":-D
