Ron, first I'd like to say that it is wonderful that you visit your mother in the nursing home. My wife worked as an activity director in a nursing home for 19 years, and it is unfortunate that many of these elderly folks very seldom receive a visit from their family.

I'm sure you really made the new elderly lady's day when she saw you in your kilt. Also, kudo's on how you handled your discussion with her. I'm sure that she had fond dreams that night of her earlier years.

    Great story.

    Darrell

Maybe you could coordinate with the activity director as part of the exercise program for the residents . . .

" . . . OK, Ms. Martha . . . if you can chase me around the courtyard, I might let you catch me this time!"

    Regards,
    Mark

The Scots used to be referred to as the "Scotch." It's old-fashioned now, but the lady may have grown up hearing them called that.

I think that was a pleasant little interchange, tho'. I'm glad she enjoyed seeing you kilted. Seems like you blessed each other.
