I take mine off when I'm home.

Then again, I also walk around naked alot when I'm home, so keeping the sporran off would only be natural.

I have a coat hook just inside my door Jacket, Hat, Sun Glasses, and now Sporran. My Wife told me to put on something if I answer the Door. Maybe some Sunglasses?
