Bob,
Congratulations on the splendid presentation you and your good lady made to those assembled for your Dinner. As has already been stated, that is a truly handsome tartan and you rightly appear to be proud to be wearing it.
Just one point (oh, there always has to be "just one point" with me, I'm afraid!) : I am surprised to see you wearing a belt with your Prince Charlie, but each to his own, I suppose!
Derek,
I too stumbled over "emceed" at first reading, and then remembered that there was an Emcee in the film of 'Cabaret'. You have already looked this up in the dictionary, so you don't need me to point out that, over here, we simply use the initials: "MC" (which seems much less trouble!;)). Now, "Jaycee" (which is presumably "JC" to us) is a new one on me. I have never heard of a JC. JP yes (Justice of the Peace), but not JC - except in a religious context and, as far as I know, there has only ever been one of those!

Thanks, Ham. I needed the belt to wear my dirk. I know the dirk is yet another issue, but I really wanted to wear it and I had a lot of fun cutting chicken and opening champagne bottles with it.
"Jaycee," as cessna152towser mentioned, is a member of Junior Chamber International, a community service and leadership training organization to which my wife and I belong.

Bob, you and the miss'us look great. Everyone appears to be having a wonderful time. I'm sure the Emcee had a lot to do with that.

I did not mean to be critical Bob - just curious.

Yes, I missed his contribution to the thread, I'm afraid, but many thanks for the explanation. I'm afraid Junior Chamber International is not an organisation I have come across, in spite of it apparently existing in the United Kingdom. I'll have to 'Do a Google' to find out more ;)

That's fine, Ham. If I seemed overly sensitive to your observation, that was not my intent. Much gets lost in these brief written communications.

Well, my wife does! Me? I'm wearing great clothes, at least.
