I ordered an Amerikilt corduroy (chestnut brown) today. I'll give some feedback after I get it and wear it.

I almost ordered a corduroy Amerikilt once, but the I got to worrying about how (in my experience) cord does tend to wear thin, and edges of chairs/seats might accelerate that. Although, no way to be sure without trying...

Wow, you must have lucked out on the size to get a UK that fast!

Yeah, luckily one was in stock and ready to go. This is my 5th UK, and I've yet to have to wait more than a few days to get one. (knock on wood).

Well, it's one way to keep corduroy from making that terrible swish noise when you walk

I have a corduroy Pittsburgh Kilt. While I'm happy with the kilt, I don't think corduroy is the best material for the job. Corduroy has a good memory: if you sit down then stand up, the kilt keeps standing up. In short, wear it with a sporran.
A corduroy UK might be a different story, though; they tend to have thicker, narrower aprons and might not have the same problem.

I have two corduroy kilts, and have had for some time. One is from TFCK in Edinburgh and the other is from UnionKilts in Wales. (There are photos in my Album but unfortunately it is still down with server problems - as is Ron's). As with all the kilts in my Kollection, I just love the corduroys. They are a little too warm for British summer wear - unless we are having a typical English summer day (cool and cloudy;)), but are superb for spring and autumn. I was surprised at how well the fabric holds the pleats - but I haven't got either of them wet in the rain yet!! Obviously, the Utilikilts' version will have the pleats sewn in from waist to hem, so pleat-holding will not be a problem.
I'd be ordering one for myself - I like the look of the blue model - but Utilikilts are accepting only 'phone orders at the moment ...... and I am NOT making expensive calls from the United Kingdom. I'll wait for their on-line facility to come back!
